President Henry Shi
I’m from Xi’an China, trained in electrical engineering I spent my college years in Fudan University in Shanghai. Education and schooling had been a source of personal reflection since spending a few grade school years in the US. I was tipped to pursue a career in education by observing that the successful Chinese student tends to succeed by doing what schools implicitly preach against, signaling of structural tensions between educational institutions and the development of the individual. I am interested in education technology, rural education, higher education reform, and the development of education as a formal discipline. I am currently involved with Sunshine Library, an NGO that makes tablet computers for use in rural education, and research projects looking at middle schools in northwestern China.
Vice President of Event Programming(Bi-weekly): Eric Liu
I’m a Ed.M. Candidate in Technology, Innovation and Education, Harvard Graduate School of Education. I’m a fervent believer in the power of education in changing the world as well as the power of technology in changing education. I’m interested in all sorts of emerging edu-techs, especially MOOC. I’m concerned with the problems of China’s under-served children and higher education. Hopefully the cutting-edge techs can alleviate these problems in the near future. I’m also a big fan of Khan Academy, Sunshine Library, TED, Online Open Courses, etc.”

Director of Web Content: Shijin Wu
Shijin Wu majored in world history and is currently working as a market researcher in pharmaceutical industry. He is interested in combining professional education and educational technology to help students clarify career choices and enhance professional skills.
Hi, my name is Tiffany (慧涵). Growing up I was extremely lucky to receive a wonderful education and realized early on the difference it made. I started volunteering at a low-income elementary school nearby in middle school, where I realized the huge disparities in education resources. In high school I began teaching English in rural Yunnan during the summer and started a program to help them improve their English during the school year, continuing during my college years. While at PKU as an exchange student, I helped out at a school for migrant children; there I realized that disparity in education didn’t just pertain to the rural urban divide. After the Sichuan earthquake I helped build an English book library and became involved with a program to help children in Wenchuan, Sichuan learn English through phonics and theatre. In addition, last year I spent a year teaching English to 1,500 high school students in rural Sichuan. Although I still don’t like spicy food, I now consider Sichuan a second home. I feel extremely privileged to be exposed both to the positive, amazing aspects of Chinese education as well as the heart wrenching difficult aspects. From my personal experiences, I have come to believe that early childhood education is extremely important for a child’s future academic career. I look forward to working with everyone as we share our knowledge and work towards better understanding and improving education.
