External Co-chair Jun Yin 殷珺

殷珺, 哈佛物理系宇宙学方向在读博士,在参与世界上最大的用于探测暗物质及暗能量的大型综合巡天望远镜(LSST)的研发与建造。本科毕业于罗切斯特大学, 拥有物理和应用数学双学位。世界上最大的暗物质探测实验 (LUX-Zeplin experiment) 研究者之一。她在探索科学真理的道路上披荆斩棘的同时,仍不忘初心,立志向更多的人传递对科学赤子般的好奇。因此她热衷于教育,除了在大学和博士期间担任过六学期助教,一对一辅导过超过百名学生以外,还曾远程担任某国内领先steam产品的思维技术顾问,在中国和美国不同幼儿园实习担任科学老师,以及在教育机构担任过市场经理等。作为一个科学工作者,她深知良好的科学教育是在高科技的现代社会成才的不可或缺条件。她希望可以通过这个平台,以一个不同的角度来探索科学教育的可能性,探讨人工智能让教育平等化的前景,普及科学教育的重要性。

Jun Yin is a Ph.D. student at Harvard physics department, specializing in cosmology. She currently participates in the development and construction of the largest ground-based dark matter search telescope, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). She has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Rochester, double majoring in physics and applied mathematics. She was a member of the largest dark matter direct detection experiment in the world, Large Underground Xenon – Zeplin experiment (LZ). While fighting her way through the jungle of unknowns, she still strives to give back to the community by spreading her curiosity toward science. She is passionate about education, other than worked as teaching assistants for over six semesters, one-to-one tutored over hundreds of students, she has also consulted for a leading STEAM education brand in China, worked as marketing manager at a education company, and worked as a science teacher at different kindergartens in both China and the U.S. As a scientist herself, she truly believes that a solid science education is a key to being successful in the modern technologically advanced society. Through this forum, she wishes to explore different possibilities of science education, discuss prospects of equalizing education with the use of AI, and popularizing science education.

Internal Co-Chair 茅心怡 Zoe Mao

茅心怡,哈佛教育学院人类发展与心理学在读硕士,EASEL lab 社会情绪学习研究助理。本科毕业于纽约大学,获儿童教育及特殊教育与心理学双学位。她曾在纽约曼哈顿和布鲁克林的四所公立小学实习,也在国内教过高中生与大学生。她曾策划了纽约大学儿童图书馆的第一次中英文双语故事时间,为全市华裔儿童和家庭提供教育资源。因热衷于学生服务和领袖活动,她在毕业时获得了学院本科生中的服务贡献奖。她体悟坚持与独立的分量,更相信团队与合作的力量。在教育的世界里,她希望抛砖引玉,让每一个人发声、发光。

Zoe Mao is a current master student in the Human Development and Psychology program at Harvard Graduate School of Education and a research assistant at EASEL lab looking at social-emotional learning. She received a B.S. degree from New York University (NYU) with double majors in Childhood and Special Education and Psychology. Zoe student taught in four public elementary schools in Manhattan and Brooklyn, NY, and she also taught older students in China. She curated the first public Chinese and English bilingual story time at NYU’s children’s library, providing educational resources for children and families in NYC. In recognition of her cumulative record of service to classmates and the school, she received the Arch Award, an NYU Steinhardt graduation award presented to one undergraduate student every year. Zoe values persistence and independence, but she also believes in teamwork and collaboration. In education, she wants to teach to inspire and be inspired.

屠欣,哈佛教育学院人类发展与心理学方向在读硕士。现哈佛教育学院Catherine Snow实验室项目研究助理,与中国发展研究基金会合作,致力于研发农村早期教育的语言发展课程。她本科毕业于华盛顿大学的早期教育和家庭研究专业,期间她帮助西雅图地区低收入家庭,为移民儿童的学术发展提供教育资源,支持他们在双文化双语言环境下的过渡。毕业后,她在非盈利的难民服务机构帮助有特殊需求的学前儿童。她希望对比中美两国早期教育,探索不同经济和资源条件下高质量早教的实践与发展。她致力于教育公平和扩大教育机会,望与教育工作者并肩而行,一同支持中美学生的学术和个人成长。

Xin Tu is currently a master candidate in the Human Development and Psychology program at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She now works as a research fellow in Catherine Snow Lab, collaborating closely with China Development Research Foundation to develop literacy curriculum for Chinese preschools in rural areas.  Xin earned a B.A. degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies from the University of Washington. During her undergraduate studies, she has been helping low-income immigrant families in the Seattle area and offering educational resources to support and bridge these children’s transitions in a bicultural and bilingual environment. After graduation, she worked with young children with special needs at a non-profit refugee service center. She is now eager to explore high-quality practice and development of early childhood education in regions with different levels of resources. She is devoted to expand educational opportunity and work shoulder-to-shoulder with educators to support the academic and personal growth of their students across the U.S and China.

方一凡,哈佛大学教育学院人类发展与心理学方向硕士在读,本科毕业于外交学院英语与国际问题研究系翻译专业。她在本科期间积累了丰富笔译与交替传译经验,希望帮助构建中西方文化的双向交流。她专注语言发展与课程设计,在国内多家教育科技公司与语言培训学校承担教研与教学工作,教授的学生群体覆盖幼儿园到大学各个年龄段。目前她在哈佛大学教育学院Teaching and learning lab担任研究助理,希望对课程设计与评估有进一步的研究。

Yifan Fang is an Ed.M candidate in Human development and psychology program at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She graduated from China Foreign Affairs University, majoring in Translation and Interpretation. She has extensive experience in translation and consecutive interpretation and aims to bridge between Chinese and western cultures. She is passionate about language development and curriculum design and did research and teaching in several Chinese education technology companies and after-school language training school. The age group of her students covers from kindergarten to college. Now she works as a research assistant in Teaching and Learning Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, hoping to devote herself in curriculum design and assessment.

Ellen Wang,哈佛大学教育学院国际教育政策方向硕士在读,本科毕业于美国史密斯文理学院政治专业。本科毕业后,她选择进修法律,并在2015年获得美国圣母大学院法学院的法学博士(JD)学位。有趣的是,这份学习经历唤醒了她对国际教育的热情。 教育法和国际人权课程使她意识到每个个体都有责任为扩大教育机会、提高教育公平性、提倡21世纪技能尽一份绵薄之力。因此,在法学院求学间,她在当地社区学习中心担任志愿导师,帮助低收入学生提高他们的学术表现。毕业后,她回到中国任教,帮助渴望留学的高中生们实现他们的“大学梦”。除了培养学生的语言能力外,她还热衷于引导学生去探索他们创意艺术家、创新思想家和全球公民的身份。她认为教育的目标是帮助学生培养他们充分的人格。作为一名教育人,她希望知识可以作为一把钥匙,打开学生的认知和想象,让他们勇于去探索人生不同的可能性。

Ellen Wang is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Education Policy at Harvard Graduate School of Education. She earned a B.A. degree in Government from Smith College. After graduation from Smith, Ellen chose to pursue a legal education, and she obtained her J.D. degree from Notre Dame Law School (NDLS) in 2015. Interestingly, her studies at NDLS awakened her passion for global education. The Education Law and international human right courses helped her become conscious of the critical needs to expand education access, improve education equity, and promote 21st-century skills for learners everywhere. Taking these needs to hearts, Ellen worked as a volunteer tutor in her local community learning center during her time at NDLS, helping low-income students bridge their numeracy and literacy gaps. Upon graduation from law school, she returned to China to work with aspiring Chinese high school students who want to study abroad for college. Apart from helping students build their language proficiency, Ellen also dedicated considerable time to developing students’ identities as creative artists, innovative thinkers, and global citizens. She believes that the goal of education is to help students develop their full human personality, and as an educator, she hopes to empower students to acquire the knowledge and skills to lead productive, imaginative and fulfilling lives.

徐程,南京师范大学学前教育学博士在读,2018至2019年在哈佛大学和麻省大学访学。她从本科开始关注与儿童艺术教育相关的一系列研究,曾参与国家教育部哲学社会科学研究重大课题攻关项目等。近年来,她格外关注中国城市流动儿童的身心发展,作为核心研究成员参与了与NGO合作的公益项目,并主持了个人创新项目,致力于通过艺术促进城市流动儿童的社会性发展。她多次参与国际会议并发表论文,热心与更多的研究者交流。在读期间,她多次进入各类教育机构与一线教师共同探求教育问题的解决。希望与更多的教育研究者和工作者们共同构建中国儿童教育的象牙塔,愿为“星星之火”,望可燎原。

Fifi Xu is a Ph.D. candidate in preschool education at Nanjing Normal University, China. She is a visiting scholar at Harvard University and the University of Massachusetts from 2018 to 2019. Since undergraduate studies, she has paid close attention to research on early childhood education, including major national philosophy and social sciences projects under the ministry of education. In recent years, she has focused on the physical and mental development of migrant children in urban China. As a core research member, she participated in public welfare projects in cooperation with NGOs and presided over individual innovation projects, with the goal to promote the social development of urban migrant children through art. Besides, she has participated in international conferences and is eager to communicate with more researchers. She is very fond of going into the education field to investigate and explore the solution of educational problems with practice educators. She hopes to work with educational practitioners and educational researchers to promote the development of Chinese children’s education. She is willing to be “the little spark”, hoping to “start a prairie fire”.

陈正尧,波士顿学院 Lynch教育学院国际教育硕士二年级。本科就读期间开始进入教育行业,历任多个国内教育集团一线教师,并且参加了多个NGO组织的偏远地区支教活动。毕业后开始进行教育行业创业,来波士顿攻读硕士学位期间,还兼职担任国内某教育机构产品内容研发主管。他对国内教育行业和美国本土教育行业均有深刻的见地与了解。他将致力于在教育理论与教育实践之间搭建桥梁,在中国教育与美国教育之间增进沟通。他非常期待将本次哈佛教育年会搭建为一线教育工作者的交流互动的良好平台。

Aaron Chen is a second year Master student at Boston College. He first participated in education during undergraduate. After graduation, he started up an education company in Guangzhou where he behaved as the CFO and took charge of the Education Product department. During the master period, he also holds the position of Content Design manager in an education company. Based on the practice experience and academic background, he aims to bridge the gap between education industries and academia. With the goal of enhancing global perspectives in education, he is devoted to promoting communication among education practitioners.

胡晓瑜, 波士顿学院 MCAS本科计算机科学二年级生。于十二岁从广东来到纽约求学,并在八年级的七个月内考上了纽约特殊高中——布鲁克林科技高中。布鲁克林科技高中实施的是STEM教育。她在高中时就研习了数学专业,并且以其专业写的排课数学论文荣获纽约州GMNY数学展的银奖。在美国求学的经历激发了她对教育的兴趣,并决心参与到其中来。她非常期待以95后年轻的视角去学习并也在2019年的论坛筹备中贡献其小小的一个视角。

Flora Hu is a sophomore student studying computer science at MCAS of Boston College. She moved from Guangdong, China to New York at age of twelve. She managed to excel in the SHSAT exam within seven months upon arrival, and she attended one of the ten specialized high schools of New York——Brooklyn Technical High School. Brooklyn Technical High School is known for their STEM education module. Flora majored in mathematics during her last two years at Brooklyn Tech, and her math paper on scheduling system won a silver medal at the Greater Metropolitan New York Math Fair. Her education experience in New York sparked her interest in education, and she strives to participate in it. With great expectations and best regards, she looks forward to learning and voicing a piece of her young perspective in the coming 2019 symposium.
